Just recently, I’ve been busy promoting my books in the local libraries and schools and it suddenly dawned on me that I’ve never actually sat down and written any blurb about myself. So, if anyone is actually interested, here are some of the questions I’ve been asked a lot and the answers that I’ve given.

Are you a REAL author?

Yes, I suppose I am. I’ve made lots of books for lots of people for years and years, but now I write stories and have them printed and made into actual books that you can buy from my publishing house, Flower Guard Books, or from Amazon.

Do you draw the pictures as well as doing the words?

Yes, I illustrate all of my stories, though my pictures are never as good on paper as they are in my head. I have sometimes thought I should get a proper illustrator to do my pictures for me, but then I worry that they won’t know exactly how I want it to look, so I try my best to do them myself.

Do you like reading your stories to people?

Mostly, yes, though I always feel nervous before I read them out loud to new people. When I write a new book I always share it with my partner and children first to see what they think and then I usually ask family and friends what they think too.

Would you like your stories to be on the television?

I would LOVE my stories to be on television and am thinking about submitting them to CBeebies for their Bedtime Story section, as lots of people who have seen my Storytime with Flower Guard Books’ videos have said they watch them before bed. At the moment, my videos are available on Facebook and YouTube.

Will you sign my book? 

Yes, I will always sign my books for anyone who asks and I will take a picture with them too if they want. I love being asked to sign my books, it makes me feel very happy.
