I’m sat at my laptop, windows open, a cuppa in front of me and the sound of the birds tweeting in the garden, interrupted only by the whirr of the washing machine on a spin cycle and my fingers tapping the keyboard.
BLISS!
I adore my children and partner, and would walk through hell and back for them, but right now, this peaceful space is filled only by me and I am loving it.
My intention…to get as many FGB jobs done before lunch as I can and then spend the afternoon sorting a few things around the house before the school run at 3pm.
I’ve been a little lacklustre about my FGB world of late. I work hard and sometimes my writing and illustrating have to take a backseat while I juggle other things and I’ve recently accepted that this is ok. I’m not going to lose my (somewhat tiny) place in the world of children’s books if I give myself a break every now and then.
There are still loads of ideas rattling around in my brain, one in particular that I’d love to have ready for the middle of June, but I’m not setting myself a deadline that I might not meet, so there are lots of ‘wait and see’ aspirations at the moment and that too is ok. Sometimes, I just need to be me!
