Flower Guard Books

Welcome to the online home of work created by Andi Dawson. Here you’ll find a world of colour and imagination, where cute characters fill the page and show off the wonderful diversity of everyday life.

Andi’s illustrations are carefully created to engage even the youngest viewer . Her writing focuses on friendship, problem solving and fun and the majority of her books are written in rhyme to encourage a love of language and promote early reading for pleasure.

  • Life in Lockdown 2020

In the middle of March my mom was given a diagnosis of ‘definitely coronavirus’ by a 111 operator. She wasn’t offered a test to prove this diagnosis, she was told to keep hydrated, take painkillers and get back in touch if her symptoms got worse. She was very ill, which isn’t like my mom at…

  • Look, a new book!

  • What other people think shouldn’t matter, but…

I write and illustrate books because I wouldn’t be able to get through a day, week, month or year with all these story ideas rattling around my brain. Luckily, my books and the workshops I provide because of them seem to be a big hit. Here are just a small selection of comments from people…
